XAT (Xavier’s Aptitude Test) conducted for admission to Post-Graduate degree programme in Management at XLRI, XIM, XISS, LIBA etc which falls in the month of January.

Note: Though the order of the sections was kept same but within each section the order of questions was kept different.
 
Section I (Quantitative Aptitude)
There were a total of 75 questions. This section was a deviation from previous three years XAT as there were very few questions in sets. Most of the questions were stand alone types & spanned the more conventional topics like Arithmetic, Algebra & Geometry interspersed with the higher math topics  like Permutations, Probability, functions, Inequalities, Calculus, Binomial Expansion and vector 3-D as well. Also the section included DI/DS. There were 30 questions each from conventional mathematics & DI/DS and 15 questions were from Higher Mathematics. The section overall was an average one.
Ideally one could attempt 38-42 questions in 55 - 60 minutes.
 
Section II (General Awareness)
There were 35 questions in this section. Topics varied from history, geography, Nobel prizes, books and authors, science, business, management and economic pacts among nations. The section overall was of medium to average difficulty. Ideally one could attempt 22 - 25 questions in 10-15 minutes.
 
Section III (Verbal Ability)
This section comprised Reading Comprehension (6 Passages 30 questions), English Usage including Parajumbles, Vocab(Synonyms & Antonyms)(15 questions), Critical Reasoning(5 questions) and Logical Reasoning(15 questions). The EU section was average as the options were pretty close with most of the vocab based questions having none of these as a choice. However, the RC section was above average as most of the questions were inference based and required careful reading though the passages were not very long. Overall an above average section.
Ideally one could attempt 36 - 40 questions in 45 - 50 minutes.
