Eligibility
Candidates must have passed Intermediate examination of Uttarakhand Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board/University for admission to 1st year of B. Pharmacy as per subjects prescribed by AICTE. 2. Candidates must have passed 3 year degree course with Mathematics as one subject at 10+2 level for admission to 1st year of MCA
Exam Pattern
The duration of the test will be 2 hours (Two Hours). Multiple responses to one question will be considered as a wrong answer and will be awarded zero marks.
Mathematics (10+2) level - 60 questions
  • Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning - 24 questions
  • General Awareness - 24 questions
  • Computer Awareness - 12 questions
Total - 120 questions
Exam Syllabus
  1. Mathematics
    • Algebra: Fundamental operations in Algebra, expansion, factorization, simultaneous linear / quadratic equation, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progression, binomial theorem, permutation and combinations, surds, determinants, matrices and its application to solution of simultaneous linear equations.
    • Modern Algebra: Binary operations, group, groupoid, semi group and monoid, sub group, permutation group.
    • Set Theory: Introduction, basic concepts, terminology and notations, subset, operation on sets, algebra of sets, Venn diagram, collection of set, multi set, ordered pairs and Cartesian product.
    • Coordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, equations of a line, mid point, intersection etc., equations of a circle, distance formula, pair of straight lines, parabola, eclipse and hyperbola, simple geometric transformations, such as translation, rotation, scaling.
    • Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous functions, differentiation of function(s), tangents and normals, simple example of maxima and minima, integration of function by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integral application to volumes and surface of frustums sphere, cone, cylinder, Taylor series.
    • Differential Equations: Differential equations of first order and their solutions, linear differential equations with constant coefficients and homogeneous linear differential equations.
    • Vector: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics.
    • Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, solution of triangles, height and distance, inverse functions.
    • Probabilities and Statistics: Basic concept of probability theory, averages, dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, and measure of dispersions, skewness and kurtosis, random variable and distribution functions, mathematical expectations, Binomial, Poisson, Normal distributions, curve fitting and principle of least squares, correlation and regression.
  2. Computer Awareness
    • Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Structure of instructions in CPU, Input /Output devices, computer memory, memory organization, back up devices.
    • Data Representation: Binary and Hexadecimal representations, binary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, single arithmetic and two 's complement arithmetic, Boolean algebra, truth table.
    • Flow chart and Algorithms.
  3. Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning:
    the question in this section will cover logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, visuo-spatial reasoning.
  4. General Awareness:
    This section will cover questions to test the general awareness about business, finance, industry, transportation, scientific inventions, governance, health care and cultural dimensions etc.
