Our PTE Scoring Means Real Exam Scoring
Pearson recently introduced updates to the PTE scoring methodology, bringing further clarity to how responses are evaluated across different item types.
The good news for TCY partners is that TCY's scoring model was already closely aligned with these official principles. As a result, the latest refinements required only minimal adjustments on the platform.
For institutes, this means they can confidently rely on TCY mock tests as a strong predictor of real exam performance. Students practicing on TCY experience scoring patterns that reflect the logic and evaluation approach used in the actual PTE exam.
|
This alignment helps trainers interpret student performance more accurately, identify weak areas earlier, and guide learners toward their target scores with greater precision.
When scoring closely reflects the real exam, practice becomes far more meaningful. It also strengthens student trust in the institute delivering the training and in the preparation system they rely on.

Big News! IELTS Goes Computer Delivered
IELTS has announced that paper-based IELTS will be phased out globally from mid-2026, with the test moving fully to the computer-delivered format. The transition reflects growing demand for digital testing, offering candidates faster results, flexible scheduling, and enhanced test features, while the format, scoring, and global recognition of IELTS remain unchanged.
TCY has been a pioneer in Computer-Delivered IELTS preparation since its introduction in 2017. Over the years, TCY has continuously aligned its practice platform with the evolving test format. The team is now bringing new innovations in AI-assisted evaluation for speaking and listening tasks, designed to provide deeper insights, realistic practice, and faster feedback for students preparing for the next generation of IELTS testing.

DET Voice Test Now Available for Quick Student Exposure
TCY has introduced the DET Voice Test, a quick and engaging way for students to experience the Duolingo English Test speaking format.
The Voice Test runs directly through WhatsApp, allowing students to try a short speaking activity that simulates the style of responses expected in the actual DET exam. In just a few minutes, students get a practical feel of how the test evaluates spontaneous speech.
|
|
For institutes, this serves two important purposes. First, it acts as a powerful counselling tool, helping students understand the DET format before they decide to take the exam. Second, it works as an effective marketing touchpoint, allowing centres to attract and engage prospective students through an easy mobile experience.
By giving students a quick preview of the test format, centres can start meaningful conversations about study abroad plans and English proficiency preparation.
Partner centres that would like to promote this feature at their premises can order DET Voice Test table standees through their TCY customer service representative. These standees allow students visiting the centre to instantly scan and try the Voice Test on their phones.

GMAT Adaptive Mocks Expanding Soon
Adaptive testing requires a completely different preparation strategy. Recognising this, TCY will soon release GMAT Adaptive Mocks 6–10.
These mocks simulate the adaptive nature of the actual exam, where question difficulty adjusts based on student performance. Practising in this environment helps students understand pacing, accuracy trade-offs, and strategic decision-making.
For serious MBA aspirants, adaptive preparation is no longer optional. It is essential.

More TOEFL Sectionals on the Way
Building on the launch of the first set, TOEFL Sectionals 6–10 for Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking will soon be released.
This expansion will significantly deepen the available practice resources, allowing institutes to structure longer preparation cycles with targeted skill improvement at every stage.
The objective is simple. Move beyond repetitive practice and enable consistent skill progression.

Unbelievable from TCY! Enjoy AI Writing Evaluation on WhatsApp
Writing practice improves only when students receive timely feedback. In reality, many students write answers but wait days before a teacher can review them.
TCY's research team is developing a simple solution.
Soon, students will be able to write their answers on paper, take a photo, and upload the sheet on WhatsApp. Within minutes, TCY's AI will generate detailed scoring and feedback.
The system will analyse grammar, vocabulary, structure, coherence, and task response, helping students quickly understand where they need to improve.
For institutes, this creates a powerful learning loop. Students can practice writing anytime, even outside class hours, while still receiving structured evaluation.
By bringing AI-powered writing feedback to WhatsApp, TCY is making high-quality evaluation faster, easier, and more accessible for every student.

TCY Research: Advanced IELTS Interviewer Coming Soon
TCY's research team is developing a new AI-powered IELTS Interviewer for desktop, designed to simulate the real speaking test with remarkable accuracy.
This will be a far more advanced version of the IELTS interviewer already available on the TCY mobile app, which has become popular among students for providing realistic IELTS speaking practice anytime and anywhere.
The upcoming desktop version will take this experience further. It will interact with students just like a real IELTS examiner, asking questions, responding naturally, and guiding the conversation across different parts of the test to create a highly authentic interview environment.
The objective is simple. Give students an experience that feels almost identical to the actual IELTS speaking test.
The interaction is designed to feel so natural that students would find it difficult to distinguish it from a real examiner if they were not told it was AI.
With this innovation, students will be able to practice speaking in a true exam-like environment, helping them build confidence, improve fluency, and prepare more effectively for the real interview.

Global Universities Are Investing Heavily in Indian Students
March 2026 has brought a remarkable development in global education diplomacy.
Following a landmark initiative that brought more than twenty Canadian university presidents visiting India, international institutions are intensifying efforts to attract Indian students through funding, partnerships, and academic collaboration.
The message from global universities is clear: Indian talent is a priority.
|
A Global Funding Surge
Major scholarship announcements are emerging across multiple destinations.
The University of Toronto has launched a $25 million funding initiative, supporting more than 220 Indian students along with 300 funded research positions. This signals one of the largest direct financial commitments aimed at Indian applicants.
In Ireland, the National College of Ireland has introduced a 75-lakh rupee scholarship pool specifically for Indian students, reflecting the country's growing interest in the Indian market.
New Zealand has also announced a NZ$260,000 scholarship package for the 2026 intake, indicating renewed policy confidence in international education.
Meanwhile, students seeking UK degrees with regional proximity now have another option. The University of Birmingham Dubai is offering scholarships of up to 40% for the September 2026 intake, providing access to a UK degree through a Middle Eastern hub.
Financial access to global education is expanding rapidly.
India–Canada Academic Partnerships Accelerate
Beyond scholarships, institutional collaborations between India and Canada are expanding at an unprecedented pace.
Three new hybrid campuses connected to Dalhousie University, McGill University, and the University of Toronto are expected to open in India, focusing on AI research, advanced technology, and R&D collaboration.
These campuses reflect a new model of global education where students can begin their programs in India and transition internationally.
Alongside these initiatives, thirteen new academic partnerships are being developed.
Among them is a Dalhousie–SRM Nursing Dual Degree program, offering students international healthcare training pathways. Another collaboration links Simon Fraser University with the Hydrogen Association, focusing on clean energy research.
These partnerships demonstrate how global universities are building deeper academic ties with India.
Creative Disciplines Enter the Global Collaboration Space
Interestingly, new collaborations are not limited to science and technology.
A recent international agreement is opening pathways for joint programs in music, entertainment technology, and visual arts, marking a significant expansion of creative education partnerships.
This reflects a broader shift in global education. International study pathways are expanding beyond traditional STEM disciplines into creative and interdisciplinary fields.
What This Means for Coaching Institutes
All these developments point toward a clear trend. Global universities are actively expanding engagement with India through funding, partnerships, and academic pathways.
As opportunities increase, so does the importance of strong language preparation and accurate test readiness.
Institutes that combine expert training with exam-aligned practice systems and reliable performance insights will be best positioned to guide students through this expanding global education landscape.
The opportunity is growing. Centres that stay ahead of these shifts will benefit the most.
