Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is one of the top 5 medical colleges in India and is acknowledged as the centre of excellence for education and research. It is located in Pune, Maharashtra and is managed by the Indian Armed Forces. The college provides training to undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing students, strengthening their career prospects in the defence services. The institute is presently affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the MCI (Medical Council of India) for conducting various undergraduate and post graduate medical courses.

Process to get into Armed Forces Medical College:

As an aspirant, you need to go through two levels of the selection process for MBBS program. These are:

I. NEET

II. ToELR + Psychological Assessment Test + Interview

Level I:

The first step is to sit for the NEET Exam. On the basis of your NEET Score, you will be shortlisted for the second level. AFMC considers the NEET score for admissions to its MBBS Programme. Therefore, it is necessary for a candidate to qualify NEET to become eligible for admission to the MBBS as well as BDS program.

Level II:

After clearing the first level, you will have to appear for AFMC ToELR (Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning) and Psychological assessment cum interview for getting selected to the Institute.

About ToELR

ToELR is a Computer Based Test consisting of 40 MCQs, 2 marks each, and 0.5 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. The candidate is required to answer all the 40 questions within 30 minutes. The marks obtained in ToELR (Max Marks: 80) will be added to the NEET score (Max Marks: 720) to get the final score out of 800. This sum will be divided by 4 to get the written examination score out of 200.

Psychological Assessment cum Interview

The interview has the weightage of 50 marks.

AFMC offers a total of 130 seats, with the number of seats fixed for boys, girls and other SC/ST (Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribes) aspirants.
