CLAT (UG) aspirants literally have ants running up their pants since they are at a loss to know how to prepare for the forthcoming CLAT 2020 exam. The reason for their anxiety is that CLAT has undergone complete metamorphosis and CLAT 2020 is so much unlike earlier CLATs. So, the previous papers are of little assistance. To compound their discomfort, CLAT consortium has been coming up with scanty information, in installments. First, the consortium came up with a press release on 22nd November, advising that the number of questions will be reduced from 200 to 150 (to be attempted in 120 minutes) and that all sections will carry comprehension based questions. The consortium also promised to provide all details with sample papers at the beginning of the registration process on first January. Though the sample questions they released on 1st January made it clear that all questions (without exception) were passage based and in sets, some things were still not clear or were rather hazy. For example, the Logical Reasoning section contained all the questions based on verbal reasoning, whereas the syllabus covered all sorts of topics including on non-verbal reasoning. Then, in the third week of January, they released a complete sample paper. And to the dismay of the aspirants, this complete sample paper had lots of changes compared to the sample questions released earlier. The Logical Reasoning section this time had some non-verbal reasoning questions also. More surprisingly, the pattern of questions in the Legal Reasoning section (Legal Aptitude test) was completely different from that in the sample questions released earlier. So, here you are at the crossroads, not knowing what exactly to prepare for.
