Who can be an author?
Anybody who can frame good questions for any of the competitive exam patterns can submit his/her tests at TCYonline.com.
What is the minimum no. of questions I need to submit?
You can submit questions as per following two plans:
Plan 1
You can submit minimum of 5 questions. In this case you will receive only one time fixed payment.
Plan 2
You can submit a set of 25 questions, which will be considered a full test. Under this plan, you will be entitled to a fixed payment (one time) plus royalty based on no. of unique clicks and user rating.
What type of questions should I upload?
You are supposed to prepare MCQ’s only (multiple choice questions) along with the explanation for all the answer choices.

Descriptive questions are not accepted.
You can also upload audio/video lectures (not more than 15 minutes). These should relate to concepts covered in your test or the detailed explanation of questions in your test. This means that you have to upload a test also along with the video lecture.
You will be paid Rs. 100- 300 per video based on the Editor's Rating. The Editor will rate your video as Average, Good or Excellent based on the quality and the relevance to the category. This will be a one time payment (no royalty).
This payment will be in addition to the payment for your tests.

Can I write on multiple subjects? If yes, how would I be paid?
Yes, you can write for multiple subjects. All payments are based on how many users attempt your tests. It is highly recommended that you write questions according to your strength areas. While uploading your tests or questions you will be asked to select primary and secondary categories. Your payment will be based on the primary category for which the test(s) or questions are appropriate
Can I have a co-author(s) working on a test?
Definitely, you can have a co-author but the payment would be made only to the primary author. You can have your own financial arrangement with your co-author.
Would the author name be mentioned along with the test?
Yes, the tests (under Plan 2) would appear in the author's name, but the questions submitted (under Plan 1) will not be published with the author’s name.

Get paid for every question you upload. The final amount will be decided after reviewing the tests on three grounds - Subject, Language and Tagging (Decision taken by editors will be final).
Editors will rate your questions as: Average, Good or Excellent.
Price per question will be based on the Editor's Rating as:

(2) Attract Students
When any student attempts your test, you get paid an additional amount depending upon the rating given by the students (applicable for Plan 2 only).
For GRE/GMAT/CAT (RC/CR/PARA JUMBLES), LAW (LEGAL REASONING), UPSC, UGC, GATE, Commerce, Computer (IT/Programming) the increased payment structure is as follows:
If your overall rating is 5, you get Rs. 100 per 100 such ratings
If your overall rating is 4, you get Rs. 80 per 100 such ratings
If your overall rating is 3, you get Rs. 60 per 100 such ratings
If your overall rating is 2, you get Rs. 40 per 100 such ratings
If your overall rating is 1, you get Rs. 20 per 100 such ratings
For other categories, the payment structure is as follows:
If your overall rating is 5, you get Rs. 60 per 100 such ratings
If your overall rating is 4, you get Rs. 50 per 100 such ratings
If your overall rating is 3, you get Rs. 40 per 100 such ratings
If your overall rating is 2, you get Rs. 30 per 100 such ratings
If your overall rating is 1, you get Rs. 20 per 100 such ratings
How much money can I earn?
There is no limit on how much money you can earn at TCYonline; the more you upload the more you earn. In case of Plan 2, your earning also depends on how many students take your test.
How long can I expect to continue to receive revenues after submission of tests?
You will continue to receive your payment as long as the content is relevant and users keep using it. So it is a good idea if you can update your content at regular intervals.
How and when shall I get paid?
All payments will be made after you have earned a minimum of Rs. 1000.
What level of tests are we looking for?
We are looking for tests related to any topic that you feel can attract wide student interest in the internet space. The level of questions may range from medium to difficult. The tests should promote not rote learning, but understanding of the concepts. In case of English tests, for example, we don’t need tests based on dictionary meanings unless the mode is offbeat and options are based on fine nuances.
What are the criteria for any questions to be accepted?
There are 2-3 parameters for the questions to be selected. Our editors would screen tests based on relevance to the category, subject, tagging and language appropriateness. It will be the users who would actually rate your questions. Based upon their feedback, the questions may be accepted or rejected. All the questions are required to be original and the author bears the responsibility for the originality.
Do I need to give answers and explanations also?
Yes, questions must have proper solutions for the correct answers and explanations for the wrong answer choices. The better your answer is elaborated, the easier it is for the student to understand why a particular option is right or not right. Students may recommend your tests to others also.
Different tests are rated differently. Would the author get any benefit from it?
Rating may affect the number of attempts. The tests with the highest ratings will be placed first and will be more visible to the students. So there will be higher chances of these getting attempted more.
Can I use my content for other sources too in addition to submitting on TCYonline?
Yes, you can. However, we won't remove the content once it's uploaded on TCYonline. You are advised to make commitments to any other parties keeping this condition in mind. By submitting the content, you grant TCYonline.com the right to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, perform and publicly display this content worldwide.
Can one pick questions from different books?
No. All the questions are required to be original.
What will happen if I upload infringing content?
Anytime we become aware that any part of content on our site infringes the copyrights of a third party, we will remove it. You will be liable for breach of trust and its consequences. If you believe that content on the site infringes your copyright, please send us a copyright notice and we'll do the needful.
Can I be barred from uploading?
Yes, if you generate fake traffic or upload vulgar content or third party content, or otherwise do not comply with the terms, you can be barred. In such a case, you will also not be paid the amount you have earned.
How do I upload a test?
You can register for free. Log on to upload page and start uploading tests. It's very simple and just takes a couple of minutes.

What if a student downloads my test and shares it with others?
Firstly, have no worries about it as a student gets the real value from the detailed analytics of the test and not from the raw content alone. TCYonline helps you and the student by providing him with benchmarked solutions.
Secondly, if we choose to give a part of your material in downloadable form temporarily, it will help you gain more popularity.
What do you mean by unique downloads/ attempts?
We have an intricate system to filter out fake traffic and to determine if a test view is unique. If the same person keeps on taking your test again and again, all the attempts will be considered as one attempt/download only.
